PERFORMANCE THROUGH EFFICIENCY

Sherman Wildcat Cartridges

The all new 375 Yukon is a departure from most of my designs, but fills a very important niche, IMO.

The Yukon is a modified version of my very popular MEGA line.  It is designed to take
advantage of modern high performance monolithic bullets for big killing power on large and dangerous game and allows for building on short, light, quick handling rifles, even in a short action!

My two test rifles were, in fact, a 700 Remington short action and a bone stock Tikka. The 700 has a 17 1/2” barrel and will run a 270 Shock Hammer at 2712 and 2.960 coal. TRY THAT in your H&H! The Tikka has an 18 1/2” barrel and runs a 248 Hammer Hunter north of 2900’. There is plenty of free bore to run much longer and heavier bullets in the Tikka length magazines. My 700 weighs in field ready at 7.8 lbs with a #5 barrel and 3 port brake and equipped with a 4.5=14×50 Leopold scope. OAL is 38 1/2. The bone stock Tikka with a #4 barrel and same brake and scope weighs 7.2 lbs. Both rifles are well balanced quick handling packages with a LOT of authority!

So far 2 bears, one elk and a deer have been taken and ALL DRT. The black bear taken in Alaska was facing head on at 260 yards and took a 248 Hammer Hunter in the front of the chest and exited his after burner! Everything in between was trashed! My bear and elk were taken with broadside heart shots at 250 yards and DRT! With something like a 275 Badlands Bulldozer, this package becomes an easy point blank to an over 800 yard rifles. Hard to beat that in Brown bear/Caribou country to African plains game.

Reamers, dies, and brass will be in stock and a couple smiths will have a longer free bore reamer for 350 grain bullets for the largest African dangerous game.

300 Mega Brass will need to be necked up and fire-formed
